I’ve always found the concept of cryosleep as part of deep space travel to be rather fascinating, be it for several months or several years or longer. The very idea of the rest of the world aging as you stand frozen in time, slicing through the black void of space with little more than a hum from the massive vessel carrying you and your crew mates ever closer to your destination. Of course FTL drives would be the preferred way to go, but are nowhere near as dramatic as physically traveling through space and time… enjoy the ride.
